Plentzia Marine Station – PIE
This Research Center for Marine Experimental Biology and Biotechnology is a non-legal entity institution founded by the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU).
The building that houses the PIE dates back to 1923, when it housed a heliotherapy sanatorium for patients with bone tuberculosis.
Nowadays, the PIE-UPV / EHU Center is mainly dedicated to scientific and technical research. It also carries out teaching activities related to specialized, postgraduate and doctoral studies of scientific dissemination.
